Katherine and Ryan met during their sophomore year at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. They had Spanish class together, and Ryan was floored by just how much English Katherine managed to speak each session. A few short months later, the couple began dating.

Katherine studied abroad during the fall of their junior year, but long-distance was no match for the couple. Ryan crammed his 6’4” frame into a plane seat and flew twenty plus hours to visit her in Auckland, New Zealand. There, they went on numerous adventures together (including black-water rafting and bungee jumping off the Auckland Harbour Bridge) and realized just how lucky they were to have found each other.

After the couple graduated from college in May of 2018, they packed their bags and moved to New York City. Three years later, they moved in together into the Tribeca apartment which they still call home. They share their space with Henry, their three-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who simultaneously manages to get into trouble and make them laugh every single day. Katherine is currently pestering Ryan to get another dog . . . but that’s a story for another time!

Ryan asked Katherine to marry him on December 16, 2023. He proposed on their rooftop at sunset, overlooking the city in which they’ve created so many amazing memories together. It was the quickest and easiest “yes” she’s ever said.

Katherine and Ryan could not be more thrilled to begin this next chapter of their life together. After nine years of dating, and in front of their close family and friends, they will tie the knot on April 5, 2025.
